Architectural design without the price tag

In recent years we’ve seen a rise in the number of websites offering modern prefab home kits, or simply just the plans that you work from to build your own home. Although, there is certainly a solid business plan behind this idea there is also a great desire on the part of many of these architects to try and make “good design” affordable to the average person, or as you may have heard it referred to before the “Democratization of Design”. However, a site called Hometta now takes this idea one step further by offering members access to full plans of home designs as well as tools and resources like their Construction Guide and Builders Resource, designed to help customers make their modern home dreams a reality. Additionally, Hometta offers plan sets for smaller items such as car ports or furniture to help add to the members modern design experience. I don’t have a membership to the site so I can’t say how thorough these tools are. With that said, having gone through the process of building a modern home myself I can tell you how under served this portion of the market is, and how invaluable a trusted resources like this can be to anyone who plans to venture down the path of breaking from “traditional” American residential design and construction.
