Gramercy House

gramercy

Robertson Design faced an interesting challenge with the Gramercy House. The home was to sit behind a Shell plant on an oddly shaped lot with set-backs that required the homes longest side to face the street. The solution that Robertson Design introduced was to create a 125 ft facade that extended beyond the homes envelope in order to create a courtyard sheltered from the sounds of its industrial neighbor. Additionally, the architects broke up the long faced with a series of changes in both physical and visual planes giving the home an inviting appeal with a mix of textural materials from wood to glass to stone.
