Lake house by Casey Brown Architecture

Having a cabin on or home on a lake can certainly be a wonderful thing, but with it comes the droves of visitors who want to visit you and your relaxing little retreat. That is why I thought this 2007 design by Casey Brown Architecture was so appealing. Instead of your guests staying in one big house Brown’s design creates a common outdoor living space and then breaks of the sleeping and private areas into 7 smaller separate buildings all elevated on a common raised platform with a large 2 sided fireplace that also services the large commons room. Additionally the property is designed with 4 large rainwater capture bins and all waste is treated on site using an Evirocycle system making it a green getaway as well. Not only is this a beautiful looking design with the wonderful common deck and large concrete exterior fireplace, but would be great if you were running a little bed and breakfast on a lake. Guests can escape to their own cabins or join the group for breakfast or just to relax by the fire at night—check it out.
