Franconia Sculpture Park

Traveling north along the St. Croix River about 45 minutes outside the Twin Cities, mixed in between acres of farmland and the occasional sprinkling of homes, you’ll find the Franconia Sculpture Park. Franconia is an innovative arts organization that provides living and work space to emerging and established artists from around the world. The garden is 20 acres of prairie land featuring 75 rotating art sculptures along with a residence where artists are able to live while working on new pieces.  The park is a great place to introduce children to the world of contemporary sculpture while drinking in the beauty of both the art and the natural surroundings. The park offers artist guided tours every Sunday from May through October, as well as a fall arts festival in later Sept. If you’re looking for a great place to drink in the fall colors and take in a little cultural stimulation, I would highly recommend you make a trip to this part of Northern Minnesota.
