Bravo, Bravo
I’ll admit that I’m a bit of a TV nut. I used to try and hide my affinity for the tube but in the last few years I’ve really embraced it as an outlet. Sure there are a lot of trashy pieces of TV out there filling the airwaves, but at the same time there is some really informative, inspiring, brilliant and just planning entertaining shows out there as well .When I find these great shows I’m the first person to tell everyone I know about them. My latest find is the Bravo network’s new show Work of Art. Much like the wildly successful Project Runway (which debuted on Bravo), this new show pits a variety of extremely talented fine artists, from a vast array of mediums and means in weekly head-to-head competitions, ultimately leading up to a gallery exhibit and critique by industry experts who decide on one winner and one artist to send home. When I saw the promos for the show I wasn’t sure it was something I was going to invest my time in, but with a little rainy weather TV time on my hands yesterday evening I caught the first 3 episodes and have to say it was pretty good. The level of talent is really high, and unlike other Bravo reality shows like TopChef (which leaves the viewer with the empty experience of seeing the food but not being able to taste it) Work of Art allows the viewer to take in the finished piece and have a valid opinion grounded in something other than I don’t like so-and-so on this season. If you’re interested in art, and don’t mind a little reality TV drama than you can get yourself caught up to speed on this season by watching full episodes online at Bravo’s official Work of Ark website.
