Typographic+Topographic Wall Art
Looking through the most recent issue of Communication Arts Typography Annual I came acrosss this incredible piece of student art that I complete fell in love with. The project entitled Still Life Comes Alive was created for the FOFA Gallery at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. The piece was the student work of Kyosuke Nishida, Brian Li, Sean Yendrys, Dominic Liu, Stefan Spec and Duc Tran. A life-sized typographic message meets topographic map through thousands of pieces of folded paper taped together to construct a typographic landscape. The project was a recent winner of the inaugural Communication Arts Typography Annual and received the Award of Excellence in the Unpublished Category. Truly theses are some talented student with an incredible future ahead of them. I’d love to a have a more permanent piece of work like this in my own home.
