Yves Béhar Design Master
I find it funny how often that when I find new design items that I like they so often come from a common design mind. This has proved true for me recently with the work of Design Master Yves Béhar—founder of FuseProject. While selecting work chairs for our new office I found the stunning new SAYL Chair from Herman Miller, and designed by Yves Béhar. He’s is also the designer of the remarkably sleek looking Leaf Light (also from Herman Miller) that I have been drooling over since its release. And then there’s our rocking little portable Jawbone Jambox speakers that allows us to share our work with clients during presentations and not depend on our laptop, the client’s conference room speakers or an even the location of an outlet. Then a few weeks ago I was reading about a local fortune 500 company just up the road that was adding in new charging stations for electric cars at their office. The GE Power stations are —yep you guessed it—designed by Yves Béhar. These are just a few of the awesome design projects of Béhars ,and it got me thinking. Shouldn’t creative minds like Yves Béhar and Karim Rashid be household names? Hopefully as the democratization of design allows the products of these creative geniuses to reach further and further into our society they will be, but for now I plan on doing my part to spread the word.
