Mid-century Modern art bench

One of the great parts of my job is that it often provides me access to a variety of private spaces, where I often find some incredible inspiration. This weekend we were shooting at Macalester College, a private liberal arts college neatly snuggled in between Minneapolis and St. Paul, in one of the Twin Cities most desirable neighborhoods. That’s where I found this incredible Mid-Century Modern wood and concrete bench. It looks a little like an elongated orange cowboy hat, and like many mid-century pieces surprisingly comfortable to sit on.
Because we were shooting during off hours I wasn’t able to find any detail about the benches origin or artist but thought it was worthy of a post.

Definitely worth a post! It’s very cool. And I thought the same thing about the cowboy hat – it reminded me of those Mexican Gummi Hats!

Cool post. Minor correction: It’s Macalester College, not University.
Thanks for the correction Nick.
